UNDERSTANDING YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN
If you have a health insurance policy, it will usually provide all or some coverage for mental health treatment. However, it is very important that you find out exactly what mental health services your insurance policy covers. You should carefully read the section in your insurance coverage booklet or your insurance's website that describes mental health services covered in your plan. If you have questions about the coverage, call your plan administrator.

Currently, I am an in-network provider for Tufts Student Health Insurance (UnitedHealthcare StudentResources) and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. I am also an out-of-network provider for other insurances. Those with an insurance that offers out-of-network benefits may be able to receive reimbursement for sessions. I can provide you statements for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Please be sure to contact your insurance provider to request specific information about your plans reimbursement rate, deductible, and mental health coverage.
Some questions you could ask your insurance company:

Do I have in-network and out-of-network benefits for mental health coverage? What are they?
Do I have a deductible? What is it and how much of it have I met?
What is the co-pay for a session if I see an in-network provider?
What percentage of cost is covered in out-of-network coverage for mental health services?
What is the co-pay if I see an out-of-network provider?
How do I submit a request for reimbursement?
What is the reimbursement for CPT code 90834/90837 if I work with an out-of-network provider?
